Taste the many flavors of Provence in a one day immersive tour of Aix en Provence and the surrounding countryside, led by an English-speaking local.

During this tour, you will explore the city of art and discover the magnificent fountains and architecture Aix en Provence is known for.

Savon de Marseille factory

During this one day guided tour, you will have the opportunity to visit one of the oldest savon de Marseille factories in Provence. This factory is one of the remaining four manufacturers of savon de Marseille still using the original process of saponification. Established in 1900, the same family still run sit today guaranteeing a unique know-how, boasting a proud family tradition.

Olive oil and wine making

 Afterwards you will visit a domain which possesses more than 180 hectares of vineyards and 40 hectares of olive trees, to sample their exceptional wines and celebrated olive oil.

Gastronomic lunch

Lunch will take place within a privileged setting in a restaurant of matchless reputation.

Indeed, the menu abounds in delicious and elaborate dishes freshly prepared by a chef who allies Provençal tradition and simplicity.
You will savour them on a shaded terrace and will have a magnificent view of the park and its one hundred-year-old trees.

Calisson factory

To end, you will have the opportunity to visit a renowned calisson factory. Calisson is a local candy adored by travelers from all over the world which has been the gastronomic emblem of the city of Aix-en-Provence for 500 years!

You will discover the family trade secrets, from the harvesting of the almonds through all the stages of production. The museum will plunge you into the history of this sweetness and will reveal you the recipe immortalized by four generations of passionate confectioners.

You may make your own traditional calissons during a two-hour workshop for an additional fee (55€/person), if you desire.
You will taken back to Aix en Provence in the afternoon.

Your private Flavors of Provence Tour

Your guide will share his expertise of French wine, answer all of your wine-related questions, and share with you some of the history of local wines and tasting techniques. Our friendly guide will pick you up from your hotel or B&B (up to 10 km around Aix en Provence) and bring you back at the end of the tour. If you wish to be picked up and dropped off from a location outside this 10km radius, extra fees may apply.

The Full Day Tour Includes 

The knowledge and guidance of a French wine expert, admission to the savon de Marseille factory, to the domain producing olive oil and wine, tasting fees, admission to the “Le Roy René Confectionary and the Calisson Museum”.
