The wines can be defined as much in terms of the unique, multi-faceted character of the soil as by the choices made by the men who work it. They produce also a delicious and renowned AOP olive oil in this area that we could visit and taste during this tour. Enjoy this beautiful region while tasting some wines of Provence having strong and generous character!
AOC Les Baux de Provence
Although wine making here dates from the romans, the AOC is quite young, since it is only 21 years old. This is a small appellation made of only 12 wineries. The majority of the production here is organic and manually harvested. Grape varietals are : Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Cournoise. Rosés and whites are dry, whereas Reds are rather fruity and alcoholic. The wines can be defined as much in terms of the unique, multi-faceted character of the soil as by the choices made by the men who work it.
Olive Oil AOP Vallées des Baux de Provence
Like wines, olive oils have a rich palette of aromas and tastes. Terroirs, varieties (Salonenque, Beruquette, Grossane, Verdale) and fruit ripeness define the aromatic profile of the pressed Olive oil. They produce also a delicious and renowned AOP Olive oil in this area that we could visit and taste during this tour.
