Bandol AOC
This terroir encompasses 8 towns from Var department : Bandol, Le Beausset, Le Castellet, La Cadière d’Azur, Saint Cyr-sur-mer, Sainte-Anne d’Evenos, Sanary-sur-mer et Ollioules. The impressive vineyards that slide towards the sea are laid out in terraces called “restanques”. Since it faces due South, these wines benefit from 3,000 hours sun a year ! While the Appellation uses 12 grape varieties, the king of them is a late ripening one called Mourvèdre. Rich in tannins, it allows Bandol’s Red wines to age as much as those of Bordeaux can do.
However, this landscape produces as well rounded and generous Rosés, and complex aromatic Whites.
Cassis AOC
Created in 1936, Cassis has been the first french “Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée”. It is the only french AOC to be fully integrated in a National Park, in this case the “Parc National des Calanques”.
The two main ingredients that define the Cassis landscape are the limestone and the sea. The vineyard is a cirque which is closed to the West by the Calanque range and to the East by Cap Canaille. Compared to the dominating Rosé color of Provence wines, The Cassis production is quite unique with its mineral whites. Clairette and Marsanne are the backbone of the blend forming those tangy wines.

Bandol AOC
Provence in the South of France is considered as the most beautiful place in France, and it stretches all the way from Arles and Avignon to Monaco, anchored by the Mediterranean sea. The region’s natural beauty, its warm climate, picturesque Medieval villages, traditional open markets, colors, aromas, olive oil, sun flowers, lavender fields and of course its wines make Provence an irresistible destination to both the French and to visitors.
What gives Provence its distinctive character and unique wines is, among other things, its particularly diverse landscape swept by the Mistral wind and its warm dry and sunny weather. Provence is more and more popular and recognized for its wines, especially about its rosé wines (some of the World’s best rosés) but it also produces some remarkable strong and full-bodied red wines which can age several years in barrels, as well as tender delicate and airy whites.
